في إنجاز جديد من سلسلة إنجازات جامعة القاهرة في التصنيفات العالمية، أعلن الدكتور محمد الخشت رئيس جامعة القاهرة، دخول الجامعة ضمن أفضل 300 جامعة راقية عالمية بالتصنيف الأمريكي US-News لعام 2024.

ولأول مرة جامعة القاهرة تخترق حاجز افضل 15 جامعة على مستوى العالم في تخصصا الصيدلة والسموم بترتيب 12 عالمياً، ولأول مرة أيضاً تأتي الرياضيات في الترتيب 33 عالمياً وعلم البوليمر 44 عالميا، و7 تخصصات ضمن أفضل 100 عالمياً، وتصدرت جامعة القاهرة الجامعات المصرية، لتتواجد 7 تخصصات ضمن أفضل 100 تخصص على مستوى العالم، وذلك من مجمل 2460 جامعة عالمية نشرهم المصنف.

وقال الدكتور الخشت، إن جامعة القاهرة جاءت في الترتيب العام 271 عالميًا في تصنيف (يو اس نيوز) الأمريكي متصدرة الجامعات المصرية، مضيفا أن الجامعة شهدت تقدمًا كبيرًا هذا العام حيث احتلت عام 2022 الترتيب 363 عالميا وفي عام 2017 كان الترتيب 450 عالميا وهو ما يوضح قدرة الجامعة علي التقدم في نفس التصنيف بنسبة 40% وهو ما يضع الجامعة بجدار ضمن أفضل 1% من جامعات العالم.

وأكد الدكتور الخشت، على تحقيق الجامعة إنجاز كبير على مستوى التخصصات حيث تواجدت 7 تخصصات ضمن أفضل 100 تخصص على مستوى العالم من بينها تخصصا الصيدلة وعلم والسموم والذي جاء ترتيبهما في المرتبة 12 عالمياً والرياضيات الترتيب 33 عالمياً وعلم البوليمر 44 عالميا والصحة العامة والبيئة المهنية الترتيب 76 عالمياً وعلم الغذاء والتكنولوجيا الترتيب 84 عالميًا والعلوم الزراعية 88 عالميا وعلم النبات والحيوان ترتيب 95 عالميًا.

وأشار الدكتور الخشت، إلى أن هناك عددا من التخصصات ضمن أفضل 200 تخصص عالمي ومن بينها تخصص الاحياء والكيمياء الحيوية وتخصص علم الاحياء المجهري وترتيبهما 118 عالميًا، والذكاء الاصطناعي في الترتيب 158 عالميا وعلم الأعصاب والسلوك في الترتيب 192 عالمياً.

وأوضح الدكتور الخشت، أن ترتيب جامعة القاهرة تتطور في مجال الهندسة لتصبح في المركز 228 عالمياً والطب في الترتيب 267 عالميًا، مشيرا إلى أن ما تحصده الجامعة من إنجازات متتالية في التصنيفات العالمية نتاج الخطة الاستراتيجية للجامعة التي تم تنفيذها منذ 2017 مرورا بالتحول الي جامعة من الجيل الخامس لمواكبة التطورات العالمية.

وأضاف الدكتور الخشت رئيس جامعة القاهرة، إلى أن التصنيف الأمريكي (يو إس نيوز) يستند على عدة معايير تركز في الأساس على النجاح الأكاديمي للجامعات، بما في ذلك السمعة المحلية والعالمية، والبحوث المنشورة بكل عام واثرها، والتعاون الدولي، ومنح درجة الدكتوراه، مشيرا إلي أن يبرز اهمية هذا التصنيف عن التصنيفات العالمية الاخرى نظرا لاهتمامه بالبحث العلمى المنشور عالميا، وهذا يوفر معلومات كثيفة للطلاب المحتملين المهتمين بالجامعات الراقية حول العالم.

ومن جانبه، ذكر الدكتور محمود السعيد نائب رئيس الجامعة للدراسات العليا والبحوث، أن ترتيب جامعة القاهرة تتقدم سنويا حيث جاءت عام 2017 في المركز 450 عالميا وفي عام 2018 في الترتيب 448 عالميا وفي عام 2019 في الترتيب 434 عالميا وفي عام 2020 في الترتيب 427 عالمياً وفي عام 2021 في الترتيب 392 عالمياً وفي عام 2022 جاءت في الترتيب 363 عالمياً، وفي عام 2024 في الترتيب 271 عالمياً.

جدير بالذكر أن جامعة القاهرة تصدرت الجامعات المصرية في الترتيب 271 عالميًا يليها جامعة الأزهر في الترتيب 327 وجامعة المنصورة 335 وجامعة الزقازيق 362 وجامعة الإسكندرية 379 وجامعة عين شمس 401 وجامعة كفر الشيخ 460 وجامعة اسيوط 489 وجامعة بنها 573 وجامعة طنطا 596 وجامعة المنيا 628 وجامعة قناة السويس 659 وجامعة المنوفية 678 وجامعة الفيوم 730 وجامعة بني سويف 872 والجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة 909 والجامعة البريطانية 1034 عالميًا.

A New Achievement: Cairo University ranks in the top 300 universities out of 30,000 worldwide, taking 271st place globally in the US News rankings for 2024.

Dr. Elkhosht: For the first time, Cairo University breaks the barrier of the top 15 universities in the world in the fields of pharmacy and toxicology, ranking 12th globally.

For the first time, mathematics ranks 33rd globally, polymer science is 44th globally, and 7 majors rank among the top 100 globally.

Dr. Elkhosht: Public health ranked 76th globally, food science and technology ranked 84th globally, agricultural sciences ranked 88th globally, and plant and animal sciences ranked 95th globally.

In a new milestone in CU’s ongoing achievements in international rankings, CU President Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht announced that the university has made it into the top 300 international universities in the US News classification for the year 2024.

For the first time, Cairo University has broken into the top 15 universities in the world in pharmacy and toxicology, ranking 12th globally. Also for the first time, mathematics ranks 33rd globally and polymer science 44th globally, with 7 majors among the top 100 globally. CU also came out on top among Egyptian universities, with 7 majors ranking among the top 100 in the world, out of a total of 2,460 global universities published by the ranking agencies.

According to Dr. Elkhosht, CU ranked 271st globally in the US News classification, and was #1 among Egyptian universities. He added that CU achieved great progress this year, having ranked 363rd globally in 2022, and 450th in 2017. This highlights CU’s achievement in advancing 40% in the same classification, placing CU firmly among the top 1% of the world’s universities.

Dr. Elkhosht emphasized that CU’s majors, especially, have reached new heights: seven CU majors ranked among the top 100 worldwide, including pharmacy and toxicology, both ranked 12th globally; mathematics, ranked 33rd globally; polymer science, 44th globally; and public health and professional environment, ranked 76th. Food science and technology ranked 84th globally, agricultural sciences 88th globally, and plant and animal sciences 95th globally.

Dr. Elkhosht pointed out that a number of majors have ranked among the top 200 globally, including biology, biochemistry, and microbiology, ranked 118th globally; artificial intelligence, ranked 158th globally; and neuroscience and behavioral sciences, ranked 192nd globally.

Dr. Elkhosht explained that CU has moved forward in the field of engineering, ranking 228th globally, and medicine, ranking 267th globally. He pointed out that CU’s string of advancements in global rankings are due to CU’s strategic plan, implemented since 2017, in addition to its transition into a fifth-generation university, keeping pace with global developments.

The President of Cairo University, added that the US News classification relies on several criteria focusing primarily on the academic success of a given university, including local and international reputation, papers published each year and their impact, international cooperation, and the granting of doctoral degrees. He underscored the importance of this classification over others due to its focus on international research publication, which provides extensive information for potential students interested in prestigious universities around the world.

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Saeed, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, stated that Cairo University’s ranking is advancing every year: in 2017 its global ranking was 450; in 2018, 448; in 2019, 434; in 2020, 427; in 2021, it ranked 392nd, in 2022 it ranked 363rd, and in 2024 it ranked 271st globally.

Notably, Cairo University topped Egyptian universities in the global rankings, coming in at 271 in the global rankings. It was followed by Al-Azhar University, which came in at 327, Mansoura University at 335, Zagazig University at 362, Alexandria University at 379, Ain Shams University at 401, Kafr El-Sheikh University at 460, Assiut University at 489, Banha University at 573, Tanta University at 596, Minya University at 628, Suez Canal University at 659, Menoufia University at 678, Fayoum University at 730, Beni Suef University at 872, the American University in Cairo at 909, and the British University in Egypt (BUE) at 1034.
