تقدم الدكتور محمد الخشت رئيس الجامعة، بالتهنئة للشيخ سلطان القاسمي حاكم إمارة الشارقة، بمناسبة حصوله على جائزة النيل للمبدعين العرب تقديرًا لجهوده المتميزة في دعم الثقافة والفنون في الوطن العربي، ودوره في تعزيز الهوية الثقافية العربية من خلال المبادرات المتنوعة في الأدب والفنون والتراث.

وأعرب رئيس جامعة القاهرة، عن اعتزازه بحاكم الشارقة الشيخ سلطان القاسمي باعتباره من أبرز خريجي جامعة القاهرة والعلاقات المتواصلة والاستراتيجية بين إمارة الشارقة وجامعة القاهرة، مثمنًا دوره المحوري وإسهاماته في دعم الحركة الثقافية والفنية في الوطن العربي.

وقال الدكتور محمد الخشت، إن الشيخ سلطان القاسمي يتمتع بمكانة ثقافية مرموقة وتقدير كبير في الأوساط الثقافية العربية والمصرية؛ نظرًا للإسهامات والخدمات التي قدمها للثقافة المصرية على مدار سنوات طويلة.

وتعد جائزة النيل للمبدعين من أبرز الجوائز الثقافية في العالم العربي، وتُمنح سنويًا للمبدعين العرب الذين قدموا إسهامات متميزة في مختلف المجالات الإبداعية.

جدير بالذكر أن الشيخ سلطان القاسمي حصل على شهادة البكالوريوس من كلية الزراعة بجامعة القاهرة، وهو شاعر وأديب ومؤرخ له العديد من المؤلفات في السياسة والتاريخ والأعمال المسرحية والأدبية، كما يعرف عنه دعمه وجهده الكبيرين على مدى ما يزيد على ربع قرن لخدمة الثقافة العربية ومحاولة إعادة الروح بقوة للشعر والأدب العربي في الأقطار العربية، وبدعمه للشعراء.

وقد شهدت إمارة الشارقة منذ توليه مقاليد الحكم تطوراً ملحوظاً وازدهارًا كبيرًا، حيث أولى اهتماماً كبيرًا لإحداث نهضة تنموية فاعلة وسريعة، كما قاد مسيرة التطورات الثقافية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية في الإمارة، وبذل جهودًا لتوفير الفرص التي تدعم التفاعل والحوار الثقافي بين شعوب العالم في مجالات العلم والمعرفة والثقافة والاجتماع والتاريخ والعمل الإنساني، ويعد أحد أبرز المهتمين بالعلم والبحث العلمي والعلماء، وبفضل الجهود التي بذلتها حكومة الشارقة وبمتابعة وإشراف مباشر من الشيخ سلطان حصلت الشارقة على عدة ألقاب عربية وعالمية، فقد نالت لقب عاصمة الثقافة العربية 1998، وعاصمة الثقافة الإسلامية 2014، وعاصمة السياحية العربية 2015، الشارقة مدينة صحية عامي 2015 و 2022، الشارقة صديقة للطفل 2015، الشارقة عاصمة الصحافة العربية 2016، الشارقة مدينة مراعية للسن 2017، وعاصمة الثقافة الرياضية العربية لعام 2021 وغيرها.

‏Sheikh Al Qasimi graduated from Cairo University, and since he assumed the reins of power, he has given the Emirate of Sharjah great attention to bringing about an effective and rapid development renaissance and led the process of cultural, economic and social development in the Emirate.

‏Dr. Al-Qasimi is a prominent figure in science and scientific research. He is a writer and historian who has many political and historical books and theatrical and literary works.

‏The President of Cairo University expressed his pride in the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi, as one of the most prominent graduates of Cairo University and the continuous and strategic relations between the Emirate of Sharjah and Cairo University, praising his pivotal role and contributions in supporting the cultural and artistic movement in the Arab world.

‏Dr. Elkhosht said that Sheikh Sultan Al-Qasimi enjoys a distinguished cultural status and great appreciation in Arab and Egyptian cultural circles thanks to the contributions and services he provided to Egyptian culture over many years.

‏The Nile Award for Arab Creatives is one of the most prominent cultural awards in the Arab world, and is awarded annually to Arab creatives who have made distinguished contributions in various creative fields.

‏Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Agriculture at Cairo University. He is a poet, writer, and historian who has written many books on politics and history, and theatrical and literary works. He is also known for his great support and effort over more than a quarter of a century to serve Arab culture and try to restore the spirit of strong support for Arabic poetry and literature in Arab countries, and is also known for his support for poets.

‏Since he took the reins of government, the Emirate of Sharjah has witnessed remarkable development and great prosperity, as he paid great attention to bringing about an effective and rapid development renaissance. He also led the process of cultural, economic and social developments in the emirate, and made efforts to provide opportunities that support cultural interaction and dialogue between the peoples of the world in the fields of science, knowledge and culture, sociology, history, and humanitarian work. He is one of the most prominent figures with an interest in science, scientific research, and scholars. Thanks to the efforts made by the Sharjah government and with the direct follow-up and supervision of Sheikh Sultan, Sharjah has been awarded several prestigious Arab and international titles: It won the title of Capital of Arab Culture in 1998, Capital of Islamic Culture in 2014, and Capital of Arab Tourism in 2015. It also won the Healthy City Sharjah in 2015 and 2022, Child-Friendly Sharjah in 2015, Sharjah Capital of Arab Journalism in 2016, Elder-Friendly Sharjah in 2017, and Sharjah Capital of Arab Sports Culture in 2021, among others.
