أعلن الدكتور محمد الخشت رئيس جامعة القاهرة، ارتفاع معامل التأثير الخاص بمجلة المعهد القومي للأورام جامعة القاهرة

‏Journal of the Egyptian National Cancer Institute خلال عام واحد من 1.8 عام 2022 الي 2.1 عام 2023 حسب تقدير مؤسسة كلاریفت اناليتكس العالمية، بالإضافة الي زيادة مؤشر الاقتباس من 2.2 فى عام 2022 إلى 3.5 فى عام 2023 بزيادة قدرها 67‎%‎.

وقال الدكتور الخشت، إن نجاح المجلة في تحقيق معامل تأثير ومعدلات الاقتباس يضمن تواجدها ضمن مجلات العلوم الطبية المدرجة عالميًا من أعلى مؤسسة تصنيف المجلات العلمية في مجال الأورام على مستوى العالم، مشيرا إلى أن ما تحققه مجلة الأورام واحدة من سلسلة إنجازات مجلات الجامعة دوليا في عدد من التخصصات الهامة.

وأشار الدكتور الخشت، إلى أن مجلة (JENCI) هي المجلة الرسمية للمعهد القومي للأورام، وتم إصدارها عام 1982 وتنشر إلكترونيًا بالتعاون مع دار النشرالدولي Springer Nature مما يتيح للمجلة مزايا كثيرة منها أنها عضو في مؤسسة COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) العالمية، وإتاحة استخدام أدق أنواع كاشف الاقتباس plagiarism-detection software iThenticate وغيرها من المميزات.

وأكد الدكتور الخشت، أن المجلة مدرجة بعدد كبير من قواعد البيانات الدولية منهاEmerging Sources Citation Index (Web of Science), SCOPUS, Clarivate, Medline, DOAJ, EBSCO Discovery Service, EMBAS.

من جانبه أوضح الدكتور محمد عبد المعطى عميد المعهد القومي للأورام، أن دعم إدارة الجامعة ساهم في رفع جميع مؤشرات المجلة فى قواعد التصنيف الدولية، مشيرًا إلى أن هناك إقبال من الباحثين على النشر فى المجلة حيث تبين ارتفاع فى عدد الأبحاث المرسلة للمجلة ( New Submission) في عام 2023 بزياده 10% عن عام 2022.

وأكد الدكتور عبد المعطى، أن نسبة قبول الأبحاث فى المجلة 14 % فقط منذ عام 2021 وقد انخفض إلى 7% فى عام 2024 مما يعنى ارتفاع معدل الرفض من قبل هيئة تحرير المجلة بداية من عام 2021 مما يدل علي إتباع المعايير الدولية لاختيار الأبحاث المقبولة للنشر بمجلة المعهد، وذلك لأن المجلة تتبع سياسة مراجعة الأقران مزدوج التعمية ( double-blind peer-review system) مع الاستعانة بعدد لايقل عن 3 محكمين اثنين في التخصص والثالث إحصائي.

وأشار الدكتور عبدالمعطي إلى أن المجلة تستقبل أبحاث من جميع انحاء العالم وقد تبين أن هناك زيادة في تنوع جنسيات الباحث المراسل للمجلة، بالإضافة إلى زيادة الأبحاث الأجنبية منذ سنه 2021 بمعدل ارتفاع 83 %.

وأضاف الدكتور طارق خيرى وكيل معهد الأورام للدراسات العليا والبحوث، أن المجلة تنشر أبحاث عن أحدث الابتكارات في جميع علوم الأورام مثل أبحاث السرطان الأساسية والتطبيقية والسريرية مع إعطاء الأولوية لموضوعات رئيسية مثل العلاج الموجه المضاد للسرطان الموضعي والنظامي مع الاهتمام الخاص بأبحاث السرطان التطبيقية من البلدان النامية؛ علم الأورام التجريبي والكشف المبكر عن السرطان والمجالات الرئيسية الناشئة في الطب التشخيصي مثل علم الأمراض الجزيئي والمعلوماتية الحيوية والتقنيات الحيوية.

وأكد الدكتور خيري، أن المجلة تصدر بصفة منتظمة شهريا منذ اشتراكها مع الناشر الدولي Springer Nature وتنشر شهريًا في المتوسط 4 أبحاث، مشيرًا إلى اتباع المعايير العلمية والاخلاقية الدقيقة من قبل رئيس تحرير المجلة الدكتور حسين خالد وزير التعليم العالي الأسبق وأستاذ طب الأورام بالمعهد القومي للأورام و مدير تحرير المجلة الدكتور محمد سيد أحمد أستاذ الفارماكولوجى والعلاج التجريبي للسرطان بالمعهد القومي للأورام قد ساهم فى إحراز المجلة تقدمًا متميزًا فى جميع المؤشرات التى تصدرها قواعد البيانات العلمية الدولية والذي أدى إلى زيادة إقبال الباحثين على النشر فى المجلة.

Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, has announced an increase in the impact factor of CU’s Journal of the Egyptian National Cancer Institute (JENCI) within one year from 1.8 in 2022 to 2.1 in 2023, according to Clarivate Analytics, in addition to achieving an increase in the citation index from 2.2 in 2022 to 3.5 in 2023, an increase of 67%.

According to Dr. Elkhosht, JENCI’s success in achieving impact factors and citation rates guarantees it a place among the medical sciences journals listed globally by the world’s highest oncology journal classification institutions, indicating that JENCI’s achievement forms part of a string of successes for CU journals internationally in a number of important specializations.

JENCI, according to Dr. Elkhosht, is the official magazine of the National Cancer Institute, and was first issued in 1982. The magazine is published electronically in cooperation with the international publishing house Springer Nature, which gives the magazine many advantages, including membership in the global COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) foundation, and uses the most accurate plagiarism-detection software, iThenticate, as well as other features.

Dr. Elkhosht confirmed that the journal is listed in a large number of international databases, including Emerging Sources Citation Index (Web of Science), SCOPUS, Clarivate, Medline, DOAJ, EBSCO Discovery Service, and EMBAS.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Moati, Dean of the National Cancer Institute, explained that the support of the university administration has contributed to raising all of the journal’s international classification, noting the demand among researchers to publish in JENCI, as evidenced by a 10% increase in new submissions in 2023 over 2022.

Dr. Abdel Moati confirmed that the rate of acceptance of research in the journal has been only 14% since 2021 and has decreased to 7% in 2024, which means a high rate of rejection by the journal’s editorial board beginning in 2021. This indicates compliance with international standards for acceptance in JENCI. The journal follows a double-blind peer-review system, with no less than 3 reviewers, two of whom are specialists in the field and the third a statistician.

Dr. Abdel Moati pointed out that the journal receives papers from all over the world, with a proven increase in the diversity of researcher nationalities at JENCI, in addition to an increase in foreign research since the year 2021 at a rate of 83%.

Dr. Tariq Khairy, Vice Dean of the Oncology Institute for Postgraduate Studies and Research, added that JENCI publishes research on the latest innovations in all oncology sciences, such as basic, applied, and clinical cancer research, with priority given to key topics such as topical and systemic targeted anti-cancer therapy, with special attention to applied cancer research from developing countries. JENCI also publishes papers on experimental oncology, early cancer detection and key emerging areas in diagnostic medicine such as molecular pathology, bioinformatics and biotechnologies.

Dr. Khairy confirmed that JENCI has been published on a regular monthly basis since its partnership with Springer Nature and publishes an average of 4 papers per month, noting the strict scientific and ethical standards followed by the editor-in-chief of the magazine, Dr. Hussein Khaled, former Minister of Higher Education and Professor of Oncology at the National Cancer Institute. The journal’s editorial director, Dr. Mohamed Sayed Ahmed, professor of pharmacology and experimental cancer treatment at the National Cancer Institute, has contributed to JENCI’s achievement of outstanding progress in all indicators issued by international scientific databases, which has led to an increase in researcher interest in publishing with JENCI.
