فى إطار إحتفالات مصر والقوات المسلحة بالذكرى التاسعة والأربعين لإنتصارات أكتوبر المجيدة نظمت جمعية المحاربين القدماء وضحايا الحرب مهرجاناً رياضياً على ملاعب جهاز الرياضة العسكرى بحضور عدد من قادة وأفراد القوات المسلحة إحتفالاً بهذه المناسبة .
تضمنت فعاليات المهرجان إقامة العديد من المسابقات الرياضية بين الفرق الرياضية لجمعية المحاربين تضمنت كرة السلة ورفع الأثقال وتنس الطاولة ومسابقة الموانع بالكراسى المتحركة ورياضة الريشة الطائرة ، وإتسمت المسابقة بالروح الرياضية العالية والإصرار على تحقيق الفوز ، كما قدمت الموسيقات العسكرية عدد من العروض الموسيقية والمعزوفات الوطنية .
وألقى اللواء / أشرف أحمد الشريف مدير جمعية المحاربين القدماء وضحايا الحرب كلمة أكد خلالها على إهتمام القيادة العامة للقوات المسلحة بتقديم كافة أوجه الدعم والرعاية لأعضاء الجمعية من أبطال القوات المسلحة وأسرهم فى كافة المجالات ، مشيراً إلى دور الجمعية فى توفير كافة التسهيلات لأبطال القوات المسلحة عرفاناً بدورهم الوطنى وتضحياتهم للحفاظ على الوطن وصون مقدراته .
وفى نهاية المهرجان تم توزيع الهدايا التذكارية والكؤوس والميداليات على الفرق الفائزة .

Within the framework of Egypt and the Armed Forces’ celebrations of the forty-ninth anniversary of the glorious October victories, the Association of Veterans and War Victims organized a sports festival on the stadiums of the military sports apparatus, in the presence of a number of leaders and members of the armed forces, to celebrate this occasion.
The festival activities included many sports competitions between the sports teams of the Warriors Association such as, basketball, weightlifting, table tennis, wheelchair obstacle course, and badminton. The competition was characterized by high sportsmanship and determination to win. Military music also presented a number of musical performances and patriotic plays.
Major General / Ashraf Ahmed Al-Sharif, Director of the Association of Veterans and War Victims, delivered a speech during which, he stressed the interest of the General Command of the Armed Forces to provide all aspects of support and care to the members of the association from the heroes of the Armed Forces and their families in all fields. He also pointed to the association’s role in providing all facilities to the heroes of the armed forces in recognition of their national role and sacrifices to preserve the homeland and preserve its capabilities. At the end of the festival, souvenirs, cups and medals were distributed to the winning teams.
