أدان أعضاء مجلس الأمن الدولي بأشد العبارات الهجمات الإرهابية الخسيسة التي وقعت اليوم، 9 أبريل 2017، أثناء قداس أحد الشعانين (أحد السعف) في كنيستين أرثوذكستين في مدينتي طنطا والإسكندرية في مصر، مما أدى إلى مقتل 41 شخصاً على الأقل وإصابة أكثر من 100 بجراح.

وقدم الأعضاء تعازيهم الحارة لأسر الضحايا وحكومة مصر، وأعربوا عن أمنياتهم بالشفاء العاجل والتام للمصابين.

وجدد أعضاء المجلس التأكيد على أن الإرهاب بجميع أشكاله وصوره يمثل أحد أخطر التهديدات للسلم والأمن الدوليين. وأكد الأعضاء على ضرورة تقديم الجناة والمنظمين والممولين والداعمين لتلك الأعمال الإرهابية المستنكرة إلى العدالة. وحثوا كل الدول على التعاون الفعال مع حكومة وسلطات مصر المعنية بهذا الشأن وبما يتوافق مع التزاماتها بموجب قرارات مجلس الأمن.

وجدد أعضاء المجلس التأكيد على أن أية أعمال إرهابية هي جرائم وغير مبررة، بغض النظر عن دوافعها ومكان وتوقيت وقوعها وهوية مرتكبيها. وشددوا على ضرورة تصدي كل الدول بجميع السبل للتهديدات التي تواجه السلم والأمن الدوليين الناجمة عن الأعمال الإرهابية، وذلك وفقاً لميثاق الأمم المتحدة والالتزامات الأخرى التي يفرضها القانون الدولي، بما في ذلك القانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان والقانون الدولي للاجئين والقانون الدولي الإنساني.

Security Council Press Statement on the terrorist attacks in Northern Egypt

The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the heinous and cowardly terrorist attacks that took place, today 9 April 2017 during a Palm Sunday service, in two Orthodox churches in Tanta and Alexandria in Egypt, during which at least 41 people were killed and over 100 injured.

They expressed their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of Egypt and they wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured.

The members of the Security Council reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security.

The members of the Security Council underlined the need to bring perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism to justice and urged all States, in accordance with their obligations under international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, to cooperate actively with the Government of Egypt and all other relevant authorities in this regard.

The members of the Security Council reiterated that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed.  They reaffirmed the need for all States to combat by all means, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and other obligations under international law, including international human rights law, international     refugee law and international humanitarian law, threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts
